I love the golden light of summer evenings. And in the summertime, on occasion when I don’t have fresh flowers on the table, my canning books take center stage. They’re consulted so frequently this time of year there’s no sense in putting them away. And really, they look pretty good waiting for the next batch of fruit or veg to come marching across the table. I picked up a couple of quarts of ruby red strawberries at the farmer’s market today and my Blue Book handily advised me on the best way to freeze them. What will it be for next weekend?
